As some of you may or may not know, next week is Holy Week, an utmost important festivity for Catholics everywhere. Since I'm an atheist, I am not aware of any specifics of the situation, except for the inescapable fact that I have a week's worth of vacations. Holy Week is the Latin American equivalent of Spring Break. Therefore, many college students will take advantage of this to visit beautiful Costa Rican beaches and get drunk, while I, the more creative mind, will spend my time reading while on a road trip to Nicaragua.

A car. A backpack. A pack of Marlboro cigarettes. And wherever the road might lead me.

I'll be back in a week.

Okay, I'm back. We drove all the way to the island of Ometepe and then headed to Granada. It was exhausting. I climbed a volcano for over three hours to reach some beautiful waterfalls and take a bath in virgin waters. I drove in a bike around the island. I went skinny dipping with a Spanish girl I'd just met. Two non-consecutive nights I got so wasted I actually fell asleep in the middle of the street. I also made out with one of my best friend's girlfriend. No tongue. Thankfully, I don't think she remembers. Among other things, the whole trip was a bacchanalia, tasting different Nicaraguan beers and international cuisine, smoking anything available, including one and a half daily packs of cigarettes. Miscellaneous activities included playing guitar on the street, dehydration, getting lost and trashing the car. It was truly an amazing trip, with many beautiful mistakes, and many fond memories.

Yeah you shouldn't smoke, especially as a doctor, it makes you a little bit of a hypocrite if you ask me, but hey it's a choice and if you want to smoke you can, it's not like we can make you stop, just recommend it, lol.

Well, I thought this should be on a new topic, but what the hell: I'm quitting smoking. Also, just to make it clear, there was a little tongue, just not too much before we realized it was probably a drunken mistake.

To be honest I was more impressed with all the stuff you did besides the drunken mistakes. Virgin water baths, skinny dipping, and bike rides sounds like a pretty epic thing to happen.
When you settle down into the rut called life again, try to incorporate whatever you learned into your life. Maybe you cal actually ask someone out and not freak out next time XD
