Oh, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I don't get the cartoon fixation, either.

In a "menkoi" (kidlike) way rather than a sexual way (yuck), my students could kick these anime wannabes' asses any day. Man, my first years are so adorable. And they have those little hand gesture dances and stuff, the tried to teach me but I am just not enough of a conformist to get the timing right. Flappy bird hands! Thumby gesture! Skip jump thingy!

This is so fucking annoying. I'm sorry but their is no better way to say it. I could memorize the lyrics and I don't know a word in Japanese, that's how much they repeat. This is far from cute. This actually made my head hurt. Couldn't get past the 2 minutes mark. And it's almost 10 minutes long....

It's not really cute but it's sheer weirdness is what stands out. There's lots of weird stuff that happen in the whole series and not just this. I' have never seen the anime really but I've had seen lots of forum-ers have Haruhi stuff on their avatars/sigs.
