what's a good 3D modeling program to ease me into it? I remember using thinks like ZX Studio or something, as well as 3D Studio Max, but that was ages ago, and I was utter rubbish with them at the time. ;_;

Well, if you go to TurboSquid you can get Gmax. It's a toned down version of 3DSMAX 4. Free as well. Anim8or and Blender are also some good free ones.

If you want professional grade results and you're not afraid to waste some cash. I recommend getting Cinema 4D Version 10. (Yes, version 10 is out for those of you who don't know.)
