I need an outlet.

I need an outlet. Programming day in and day out, weeks on end in my spare time. When I'm not working or sleeping, I'm programming. So I decided that it's been over a year, I might as well get back into the swing of drawing. Since it's been so long, I'm probably rusty, but I might as well ask: Anyone have any ideas?

I'm wanting to draw so I'm open for ideas, please post generalized ideas and not character requests. It's not intended to be a free commission topic.

I'd also like some feedback: I've owned my 6x8" Intuos 3 tablet for over two years, and it still feels awkward. Does anyone here know how to get over that? I just can't seem to get the same quality of line or anything for that matter.

The texture seems off for one, is it just something I have to adapt to?

ive got a intuos 3 and i know what you mean. one thing you can try is to draw lines in illustrator using the pencil tool. It has options to smooth out your lines making them look more natural rather than tablet'ed.
Ive heard about that about programming and thats one of the things that made me not go that way in childhood. Well I coulda studied game developing though but didnt know there was such a thing.
for drawing without a source, you can always make surreal stuff out of your imagination such as sci fi spaceships , structures, etc. or fantasy stuff like airships

Ive been using my wacom for little over a year and it still feels weird, i prefer a pencil and paper any day. For ideas...how about demons...death, despair, you know regular stuff.
