I have a project I am doing for school and not a whole lot of time.

I need someone that could help me that has much patience and a bit of time to play with

I'm not dumb but i can't for the life of me grasp the scripting concept at all and with a short ass time limit have no time what soever to learn right now

I need to make a beowulf like game quickly

I have the concept down getting sprites isn't hard

I know the story line the only thing I need is help with a battle system I use to have

and I have questions on the following

-Tileset add-ons
-events in battles
-and is it possible to show movies and play voices

I can help you on your questions.

1. Tileset add-ons-- you'll have to open up an image editing program (MS Paint, Paint.NET, Photoshop, Gimp, etc.) and open the tileset you want to add on to. In another window/tab, also open the add-on. Then copy paste the add-on onto the tileset (you'll have to make the canvas longer). Make sure when you're pasting, it matches EXACTLY with the tileset-- one pixel off will result in you getting uneven tiles. Sometimes it helps to zoom in on the pixels to make sure it works.

2. Events in battle-- what do you mean? You can't exactly set map events, but there are always common and troop events. Common events can be used and called during battle-- you set the common event in the Skills Database. For troop events, just check one of those conditions and do what you want, like Force Action, Show Text.

3. Showing movies-- if you want an .avi or flash file to play, you'll need a script. Here's malucifer's flash. Try searching for an avi playing script.
As for voices, you can do that with regular eventing. Make a SE or BGS using a voice-recording program, and then just play it every time you show text. This'll be annoying if you make a lot of dialogue, though.

Hope this helped! Game-making is a pretty hard concept to grasp, but once you get the basics of eventing, there's really not much more to learn (other than scripting, of course).
