I have a newer computer but Morrowind is Lagging, Why??

I have 3 gigs of ram, a pretty good graphics card and processor, so why is the game elder scrolls: Morrowind Lagging? it's old for one, secondly I have no mods for it. For a day or two it was doing fine, but today it was lagging bad.

Is this something wrong with my computer? I noticed my time keeps getting off too...
I don't know what to do, or if it's something to do with my hardware.

Sounds like maybe your bios is misconfigured or your CMOS battery is bad if your clock is going out of sync. If Morrowind is performing poorly that could also be the cause; perhaps your CMOS battery is going dead and your bios has been reset to default settings. If you were doing some tweaking you could have configured it improperly and forced it to default, as well. "A pretty good graphics card and processor" doesn't really say much about your system though, for all we know you have a laptop with an integrated graphics card which is about as good as having nothing.

Morrowind is quite known for crashing and lagging on any computer. The best solution would be to track down a copy for the original Xbox. This game is also backwards compatible with the 360.

The only time I had an issue with Morrowind was on a GeForce 2 right when it came out. Soon as I upgraded to the GF4 series I was good to go; I didn't realize it had issues at all. Make sure you have the latest updates and maybe check out the official forums if they still exist in that case, there has to be a fix for such a popular game. It may be the copy protection, in which case a handy-dandy no CD crack will save the day.

Check to see if there are any background processes running. I've never experienced lag on Morrowind in my MacBook Pro (tested in Crossover Pro and Bootcamp)

My computer is garbage with about a stick of ram and a really bad graphics card, but it runs Morrowind like butter. What proccessor do you have?
