I dunno if it's the right place but..

I don't know if that's the proper place for that... but...
I wondered if someone can tell me or write a tutorial of something that I have no idea of how to do it...

I need for example for my hero to go on in the game to hunt down an item, for example a emerald and that can be done only by, for example killing a specific monster. But when I tried to do something like that in my game, The guard that, should, demand the item, give me to pass through without it...
I asked a friend and he told me something about variables or something like that... I have no idea what it is and I would be greatful if someone can tell how to do it... The whole day I tried to figure it out by myself and I just have no idea... Is it possible anyways?
If yes, please someone can tell me how?

On your gaurd event go to the event commands.
On the first page is Conditional Branch, click on it then go to the fourth page of the conditional branch.
There click Item and choose the item the player needs to have to pass.
Your event will look like this:

@> Conditional Branch: [Your Item] in inventory
    @>

    Else:
    @>
    Branch End:
@>

Under Conditional Branch [Your Item] in inventory you make something that makes the player pass.
Under Else you make a line that says something like: You need a potion to pass, go find one.

I'm not very good at explaining things but hopefully it helps.
