I can't seem to find any good tutorials explaining variables

Another quick question before i head on to bed.

I have been searching the forum about Variables, and a good number of the threads i have found people have distributed links to help, but the links are dead now.

Is there anything out there that can help me learn variables for events mainly event conversations?
