I am sick and tired of RMXP not working properly.

I don't know if I am the only one who encounters problems with the program, but personally it is driving me nuts the way the program does not adhere to its own rules.

You see, in my game it is important that you see the transformations of many monsters for boss fights and the like. The PROBLEM is that when I use the "change graphic" function even under direction fix and without movement the RMXP skips frames, or when it is supposed to go back and forth between 7 frames it only chooses 2 ... or does not depict any of the changes at all. It is ridiculous. Furthermore a set of 4 frames that I tried to depict only resulting in one of my characters turning invisible!

Because of this I may not be able to create an upcoming boss fight if I cannot properly animate a character.

Has anyone else encountered this problem or figured out ways to fix it?

Just a quick question and thought, are you putting any wait times between each frame? if so maybe you should increase the amount of time and see if that makes a difference. I know that if there isn't any wait time set in between each graphic change that it does all of them rather quickly to the point your likely only to see one or two of the frames actually shown.

Just a thought.

Yes, I've been using wait times of 2 - 4 frames.

It seems that the character turning invisible has something to do with RPG maker only letting me change the graphics when it is facing the same direction as the graphics I want to face. But rpg maker will not register the "turn down" command I'm telling it to use to fix the problem ...

Try increasing the wait time to like 10 frames.  See if that makes a difference.

The problem is that it refuses to register one particular animation.

I think I'm going to try to re-animate it though and maybe copy the animation for all directions.

Okay.  Also, be careful if you decide to copy+paste "set move route" from other events.  If a certain event tag is set to "This event" and you copy it to another, it completely screws things up.  It's better to do everything by hand instead of taking the shortcut.  I find this also applies for conditional branches as well.

Whenever I have these strange RMXP problems I always re-do everything giving it a fresh start.  This may not be your issue but I recommend it. :)

Good luck!

I figured out how to solve my first problem ... I realized when I did a wait 4 ... change graphic to a ... wait for .. change graphic to b and so on ... it would only show "a" then "b" and they would be instant. So what I had to do is "change graphic to a. wait 4." WAIT UNTIL MOVES COMPLETION then start another move route and do B and so on. Yes it really is this much of a headache.

Does this sound like something I'm doing wrong? I think its rpg maker's fault.

upload the file and I will have a look at it.

More that likely you are either misusing a event command, or have a little checkbox checked somewhere where it shouldnt that is screwing it all up ^_^

But yeah, if you want to upload it, I am sure that I could figure out what is wrong, or if I cant, someone else could.
