How would you rate the numbered final fantasies?

This is a kind of poll, although i can't really format it that way. Basically, you just put down the nu,bers of the 12 final fantasies so far in order of preference. If you have yet to play one, put it last. If you have yet to play several, put them last, but maybe judge them on what you do know eg if you hated ff5' job systme, ff3 may not be your best choice. You do not have to have played them all the way through, a few bosses is usually enough to get a good grasp. Also, bear in mind this is a trump sytem, so if you notice that one you like is really far down, don't worry

I will only list ones I have completed. I have played all of them, but only these are completed:

2. FF X

First 4 are very close to each other. FF VIII is maybe best, because it was first one I bought. XII would be best if there wasn't so many bad sides in it. Maybe overall best would be FFX, just because of best battle system etc.. FF IX and VII are very good also, I just haven't played these in years so their superioriness isn't so overwhelming. FF X-2 instead, is far below other ones. I don't know why, it just doesn't feel good.

Haven't been arsed to play FF1 or 2. I tried Dawn of Souls, but it bored me to the point where I simply couldn't play anymore.

And yet I still have the feeling they'd easily beat 8, just because 8's story was the most godawful piece of garbage I've seen in many a year.

EDIT: also note the only ones of these I actually really like are the top three. The other ones I played (mostly through) for some sick sense of 'they're supposed to be good...' (and was pretty disssapointed in most cases)

If it was so horrible, why was it voted "World's #1 Game" for 9 years in a row, I wonder? If that was an opinion, you should've said so in a non-sadistic manner rather than flaming it, as well as its fans.

He didn't say it was the horrible. He said it ruined the series. The way it ruined the series is that all these spinoffs. He wasn't flaming, I don't think, either. I don't like it much because it was number 1. I kinda liked it when they all were "FFs are cool" insted of "FF7 is the best."

I love how pretty much everyone who says that never gives any real reasoning except that it's overrated (Which it is, but that doesn't make it horrible). I'm eager to hear exactly how it ruined the series.
