How to make battles.

I'm new and making my story and need to use the graphic Small04 and I need to make it where when the main actor walks by the monster it starts a battle. Could someone help me?

First go to the seconded event page and click play SE and click small02 then go to the third event page then go to battle processing and chose the monster you want to battle.

Why small02? Small04 is a rat and I want to make it an enemy for me to battle.

Just set the conditions to event touch and then use battle processing.  Follow with a self switch to turn it off after a fight.  I hope that's what you were asking.  You should use more periods and less run-on sentences . . . both of you.
