The idea was that this would be a big and obvious message to people with the problem. Whoever changed the title clearly missed the point (people with the problem won't think to look for IMPORTING CHARACTERS but will be drawn to THERE IS A BOX) and we can enjoy watching the message go ignored.

I did, because it was just an attention whore topic name. We can't make fun of n00bs for using all caps and do it ourselves.

It's a silly question people that everyone has issues with, but its not the most annoying question by far. I can think of at least 5 more annoying. Do they all get a stickied obnoxious thread? No.

I will update the FAQ, and next time you see someone posting how to do this, just give them a link.

That was the point- if people saw a topic that grabbed their attention they would look in it. People do not read FAQ topics. You of all people should know this.

You're clearly misinterpreting the purpose of the thread. It's not a tutorial. It's a "stop asking this question, her is your answer".

I understood the purpose of the thread completely. But like I said, then lets create 20 stickied topics with "HEY IDIOTS, NO FONT IN MY GAME!" and topics named like that. It's silly and excessive.

People don't have to read the FAQs, but we don't have to answer questions like this. The purpose of a FAQ isn't just "look here first, then ask questions." It can be used as a reference. Someone post a topic, you post a link to the FAQ.

No need to re-explain anything.

But meh, I guess you're right in that this community isn't ready to change just yet. Maybe I need to just deal with the fact that this place really is just overrun with people who can't think for themselves. I'll hold off a while longer.
