How really good old rpg are.

Hello everone, I as justing thinking how good old rpgs are like for snes, I know they dont have the super graphics and all but they story line and game play in them are so much better then now. I am currently playing tales of Phantasia. it is a aswome game also playing the furst star ocean to. Both of this games in my opion blow away alot of the new rpgs. Well tell me what you think about old rpg compared to new rpgs.

p.s. If any would like this games I am playing I can make a rar.archive and send them to you over aim my screen name is DeamonCrosis

Well to me many of the old RPG's were japan only on the SNES but your right many of them blow away a lot of the new school RPG's.

Just about last summer i played Dual Orb 2 an RPG on the SNES and beaten it. Basically it's the hardest RPG i ever played. but the story was really good.

Sharing ROMs is illegal, just as playing them or having them saved on your HDD is. Just the reason why I won't list the best RPG ever in here... stop pirating great games! SNES RPG FTW!

^_^ I was going to say that.
But it actually states... umm I don't know where... that you can keep ROMs for 24 hours before they become illegal, but if you don't get rid of them after that then its illegal.

You don't really think you can stop playing ToP after 24 hours, do you? :P Besides that, I don't believe you can do it, though I'm not sure... well, it also says on a few sites you can have ROMs as long as you own the legal copies of those games, which is false, too.

I think the law concerning NES and SNES roms is retarded due to the fact that the games are no longer produced and a copy of them cannot be obtained from the publisher or developer. That alone quite potentially makes them public domain.

My favorite SNES RPG was probably Chrono Trigger due to its effective use of cliches.

Kaoii, no. For example, the Wii's Virtual Console is having those old games released on them and many are often in compilations. For some that are no longer available by the publisher, they would rather you not play them at all and buy one of their newer games instead.

Sorry, not true. BS from sites that offer the downloads. :)

FFIV was my favorite of the old snes rpgs. You ride a whale to the moon :d

Well I have the japanse ver of star ocean and top in my house, I just dont have the conver cartaige for snes. So I do own the games and it is legal for my to have them. I just wanted to sure the great rpgs to people if they wanted to try the games out.

I'm sure the mods won't rape him, jeez.
As for the good rpgs, I really enjoyed Chrono Trigger, Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (I LOVED this one) and Earthbound.

Ah right sorry about what I said... I thought it was true...

Anyway, my favourite Snes Games were:
Teranigma
Sunset Riders
Umm I can't remember the names of the others ^_^

Teranigma was a aswome game, never played sunset riders though. Lufia 1 and 2 where good games I liked them both also. I am a huge fan of the final fantasy series. Chrono tigger, was one of the best games ever made.

you liked FFVI? I found it extremely hard to care about ANY of the stupid characters or the story after about 7 hours. it was too boring for me, and too all over the place.

Ah, I had forgotten about that. I suppose you're right then.

Old school RPGs are timeless classics I'd like to play. Well, on the SNES I loved Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV, Earthbound, and some other RPGs that escape my mind. On the NES, I loved the original Dragon Quest. It was slow (Training wise, and oh, the agony when I forgot to bring a torch and I don't have the spell Radiant yet whenever I'm a dark dungeon), but it was the first. :D

Most of the "old school" RPG's sucked... horribly. I honestly don't know why people think they were some godly thing. They were cool 20 years ago, but they don't hold a candle know and the only games that really shattered the mold like Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy VI have already been played to death (not to mention released on every fucking console).
