How many DVDs, CDs, hard media do you own

Most people pirate these days. ;-*

Just wondering through, how many people actually buy hard media of their shit and own the legal copies?

I'm talking about entertainment rather than software here. Video games don't count much as its more difficult to pirate them so most people just buy them anyway.

Personally I don't own any illegal DVDs or CDs and have never downloaded anything like that. :toot: Dunno why, not trying to be moralic or anything.

I probably have only... 30 CDs and 40 DVDs. Favourites being my Monty Pythons, Blackadders, Red Dwarfs, etc.

I guess what I'm saying is what proportion is your shit from pirate to real?

I never actually pirate movies. it's probably a combination of my terrible internet, my limited HD space, and the fact that I don't own any writable DVDs. besides, there are a million video stores within walking distance.

same goes for music, oddly enough. thing of convenience. legal shit's easier to find and more reliable. on the offchance that I can't find something (movie soundtrack or such) then I'll Henry Case it. honestly, though, most of the artists I like are cool guys and I have no specific reason not to give them my money.

Awesome Bro

Uhh lets see, legitimate eh...

About 600-700 DVD's, got about 70-80 Bluray films (Last time I counted it was 72, bought more since then), every game for every console I've ever had (That could add up to almost a thousand games), all my Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Slipknot, Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine, All That Remains, Alexisonfire and Underoath albums (Fuck knows how many I've got...), and well that's about it...

Now let's see what I've shivered in my timbers...

About 4-5GB of music. HOWEVER, some of the music are songs from my albums that I DO own, since they're copyright protected so I can't copy them onto the PC.

Yeah, that's about it.

I.. pirate everything. :3

erm.. except..
i've got a subscription to some kind of organization which forces me to buy something every 3 months
people came to me probably about 1/1/2 years ago, on the street
damn, they offered me a free mp3 player
motherfuckers

anyway, that allows me to buy disney dvd's for cheap
even though i downloaded every disney movie available, i still like to have those on dvd or w/e
sucks that in 20 years dvd probably wont be used anymore

I never pirate movies but only because my internet connection is way to slow.
All of my music is downloaded, I don't see the point of buying cd's anymore.
I also have a few SNES, N64, GBA and NDS ROMS.
That's about it I guess...

I own large amounts of retro cartridges and CDs that I didn't buy. As for things I've actually boughten with my own money:

Ps2 Games:
GodHand
Smackdown vs Raw 2009 (Worst ever)

Ps3 Games:
MGS4
Litttle Big Planet (Mreh)

I don't even own any music or movies. Everything else is pirated, except for some random PS2 games I aquired from friends. I think I actually own some UMDs. God knows why. I just ISO Load everything.

i dont think i could possibly count the number of movies, music files, or games, that've magically been downloaded (without my prior knowledge ..........of course)

as for real shit i have a good number of games, probably around 100 or so, of various types. as for music, i can count the number of legit copies on one hand. for movies, i own 3 monty python movies and 2 pornos which were given as gifts. thats all

personally i seldom see the point in re-watching a movie. once i've watched it i usually dont feel like seeing it again for years and years. so buying movie media is pointless.

thats not to say every movie i've seen was pirated; i use pay-per-view a lot and actually go to the theatre once in a blue moon.

My legal media: (All multiple-disc sets were counted as a single disc)

189 DVDs
10 Blu-Ray
9 Wii Discs
14 GCN Discs
7 PS2 Discs
258 Music CDs
41 Video Tapes
120 PC Discs (Software and games)
6 N64 Cartridges
10 DS Carts
13 GBA Carts
11 GBC Cartridges
6 GB Cartridges

I didn't bother unpacking the vinyl and counting that. Suffice to say there are at least 150 individual records as well.

I always find films are somehow better if you don't watch them all the time (i.e. if you have to wait till you can afford some DVDs, or want to go to the pictures, etc)

Download them and they're not special anymore :(

I pirate 99% of everything. I have no CDs or DVDs whatsoever, and I haven't bought any in the past few...years?

I dunno that may change soon. Pirating EVERYTHING is getting to be a pain in the ass.

Legal:
~100 DVD/CDs
~20 PC Games
~7 PSP Games
~21 GB/C/A & NDS Carts
~4 XBox360 Games

Not Legal:
~323 Movies
~21343 Songs
~90 PC games
~30 PSP games
~75 GB/C/A & NDS Roms
~15 XBox games - I used to have the actual games, but lost them in a move
~36 XBox360 Games
~300 Misc Software
~950 Misc Shows (Includes DVR copies)

I generally go out and buy anything I think is worth it, but I download it first to make sure it is worth it. Paying for things that you can't return annoys me. Most of my stuff is in the Evaluate pile. I download in bulk then go through it when I have time. Woot 25 TB worth of HDD space...

ahahah@21343 songs
21343*4 (Average song time in minutes)
= 85 372 minutes
= 1422 hours

1422/16 (hours per day you're awake)
= 88 days

so it'd take you 88 full days to listen to all your songs
taken into consideration that you listen to music.. (this is a guess) 3 hours a day
it'd take you more than a year (474 days) to listen to all the songs in your library
and then i didn't even put into account the times you listen to a song twice.

:D
