How do you go about working on a game with a team?

How do you transfer maps, animations, etc, between people?

For example, I have the master project, and I want to transfer animations from one person, to the master project. How would I go about this? I understand with maps you can copy and paste, but I was wondering if theres an easier way? Is it possible to copy and paste something from one database to another, like a class, or a skill?

I've worked on games with other people, but the projects never got far enough to where we fully figured this out.

But what does that actually do? If we all start off with the same files, lets say team mate 1 creates a character in slot 5. How would I transfer that? Is there a file in the Data folder that he could just send me?

What if 2 people create a character in the same slots... would I just have to prevent that before it happens, or are there ways to transfer a character to slot 6 or something?

Just using characters as an example

Well characters would be held in Data/Actors.rxdata i think.

To prevent this you would have to pre warn them, like say member 1 focus on character 1-5, member 2 6-9 and so on,

all they would have to do (or you) you would just have to get him to send that file to you when he has finished, over write your copy, then sne d that to team mate 2 and get him to start working on 6-9, and so on.

You can easily copy things from one project to another. Just open up the RMXP twice and open up your project and your friends project. You can copy a character from your friends project and paste it in yours.

However, you should still coordinate the position on things. If the Fireball spell is the fifteenth spell in you project, it should not be in another position in your friends project. Neither should the fifteenth slot be occupied by another skill in his project. If your friend needs the fireball spell to do his part of the work, it should be in the same position. If he doesn't, he should just leave the fifteenth slot empty. Ditto with everything else in the database and graphics. Otherwise things will get funny when the characters have the wrong classes, which in turn has the wrong skills and which in turn has the wrong animations.
