How do i use a variable in a "Show Text"? Possible?

Deleted my last post and reused it for this, How would I use a variable in a "Show Text" So i can use it for the bank to say, "You currently have ____ Gold in the bank"

Thank you very much, I should read the in RMXP help file but it's ugly and personally i don't like how it was written, it's user friendly for smarter users, but people like myself are lazy and don't like reading 50 pages to fine one variable.

Fair enough.

Hey, here's something that you might like:  If you get your hands on, say, ccoa's Advanced Message Script, there's often a tutorial or instructions in the script itself which lists all the cool text options.

I looooove Advanced Message Scripts.  And they include instructions...

Yeah, I have that downloaded, Just haven't implemented any scripts yet, I'm trying to do the basic layout of the main town first, but before i attempt to REALLY create a game i am trying to learn the basics like using commands like \v[N] for variable in show text.

I have EVERY command for that AMS on 2 pieces of paper in a notebook for reference. I'm very organized for stuff like that.

A method easier than reading the whole help file is using the Right-click: "What's This?" function, it'll tell you all the things you need to know for each event command and more.

I said screw it and i'm using AMS now :P It has a manual and i wrote it on paper also to be safe. ;) Thanks everyone.

I have another question since we're at this.

(Don't want to post another topic or i'm flooding the forums.)
What about for over and under tilesets? I made the grass layer one etc. with a walkway, and i put a castle piece on layer 1 around my city, i made layer 3 my little over/under bridge ordeal but it doesn't let me walk under it... I'm confused.

How do i make it so the highest layer i can walk under?

Rather than using "What's This" on the event commands screen, you have to actually click on "Show Text" and then use the function (you don't have to right-click, you can also click the "?" at the top-right and then click on something to learn about it).

As for your question, you may want to check up on bridge tutorials. In the database, you can define tile "heights" with the "Priority" setting (again, you might want to use the "What's This" function for more info). However, you can only have one priority on a tile, which is why a bridge can only be walked over or walked under, but not both.

To overcome this, you'll have to use events. Try reading this tutorial, it should help. Good luck with it! :thumb:
