How do I support an odd game pad?

I have a dancing pad for Pump It Up, but it doesn't work like a normal game pad o.O I'm not even sure if I can use it, or how I would begin to implement something like that o.o

how is it not normal besides being a dance pad? If it shows up in the windows game controllers under the control panel, it should work.
If it works there, load up an RMXP game--either stand alone or through playtesting in RMXP--and press F1 to configure controls. It should respond there if it responds in the game controllers section.
