how do i get an event to dissapear

i recently bought rpg maker xp edition and im trying to get my event player to dissapear when it walks through a door i can get it to move ok and everything else i just cant get it to dissapear. thanks in advance

If it's the player.
Hit: Change Transparent Flag :through an event.
If it's an event.
Hit: Set move route :Change the opacity to 0.
