How do I change my messages so they don't show all at once?

The thing is, I want to customize my message boxes so they show the text letter by letter in a fast motion, kinda like golden sun or pokemon. Also, now that we're on the subject, how do I modify my message boxes so they can be a different color or have different fonts? Thanks in advance.

I have a problem with the Ucoder, I downloaded it and unzipped it and everything, but it won't run because my version of RPG Maker is different than the version that this program was meant for. I have checked and my version is 1.0.0.1, is this an older version or what? What do I do to upgrade it, if possible?

Have you tried ccoa's Universal Message System (UMS)?  It has a lot of really nice features, including the one you mentioned about the letter by letter text.  I believe it even allows you to control how quickly the text will write.  The last place I saw it was over at rpg revolution.  It should be on the first page as "Universal Message System v1.6.3 Update."

I downloaded the patch and ran it. It said ''Update is now complete'' and the version changed from 1.0.0.1 to 1.0.2.0, but now the RPG Maker itself is not running. How do I fix these? Thanks in advance.

Is RPG Maker just simply not starting, or does a screen come up?  If it's not starting, try restarting your computer.

It seems RPG Maker XP was not starting because when I installed the patch, the SciLexer.dll file was erased and the program could not run. I re-installed my older version and ran it again, and it worked, but I still can't get any of these programs to work.

EDIT: I tried running the patch again, and now it doesn't work. ''Failed to write RPGXP.exe'' is what it's saying.

If you had the program up while installing the patch, it might have caused the initial error and this one.  Otherwise, I'm not really sure what's happening with the patch.

Update: I uninstalled RPG Maker XP completely and re-installed my older version (1.0.01.) Everything ran smoothly, but the patch is now definitely broken, it's still giving me the same error message mentionaed above. ''Failed to write RPGXP.exe''. So I now can't patch it, is there any solution you can think of?
