HK-Anthro wolf

I'm not sure how to go about the palette problem. I adjusted the contrast a bit so the colors would blend together so much, Does that work?
I moved his noise down a pixel, enough so I would still match with the side view.

I guess I lied about the pants from the HKCP fitting. A few pixels of fur stuck out at the bottom. But anyone with a simple paint program could scratch it out.
I'll sprite his tail separately so it could be used as an accessory.

Looks real cool in sideview too. I came to think of a thing. Wouldn't a werewolf have reversed knees like a dog?

No, those aren't reversed knees. They're called digitigrade legs, where the tarsals are very long so that the ankles are located where we expect knees to be.

Mhmm, and the 5th toe is only the back of the front ankles, am I right? There's no toe on the back.

Anyway, this is amazing work. Well done.

I believe it's called a dewclaw.

Really good job on this one. I would suggest editing the hands to be more realistic, as you did with the feet. Otherwise, keep it up!

Another small update:

I was going to just leave the feet more flatfooted/human-like. But I decided to look up anthro character sheets as a reference and experiment with the legs. Everyone draws them differently, a lot of them really look like they have backward knees.
Starting on the Left is my original idea. Moving to the right the legs get more wolf like. The problem I have with these is that unless I have him hunched over with his arms out in the air he doesn't look like he could stay balanced. Also extending the legs to walk might look funny; not to mention I would have to redo the front and play with the perspective until I get it to look ok.

Even if I don't use these, I could have enough scraps to turn this into a regular wolf.

Oh and Venetia: I'm not sure what you meant about the contrast/variety in my palette. Here I adjusted the contrast so it pops out a little more:

I like the first more than the second, but I like the second better than the others.
I've seen anthro wolves with legs like the first one, so if it was me, I'd stich with the original...but, it's your WIP, so it's your decision, and it's turning out very good! :thumb:

Oh yeah, uh...would it be alright to use your Anthro wolf as reference to make version for RMVX?(I've already gotten started on it, but I'll stop if you don't want me to do it...^^)

don't double post, next time use the edit button. - missingno

I love the wolf sprite coyotecraft, I love wolves myself.
When Im able to sprite better Ill hope to make a sprite of
Sam and his wolf (and black male wolf with a white stride from his
forehead to his upper back  )

Those legs are very like the ones I was using for my Aurite template--it's kind of a challenge doing those anthromorph legs and even I didn't quite get it right. The one on the far right looks the most animalistic, but I like the one in the middle the best. It looks the most ... Relaxed, I suppose. But I like the backward legs much better than the forward bent ones--this way it looks more like a wolf man than a man in a reaaallly expensive wolf suit.

As for the palette, the one on the left is MUCH better, yes. I was having a very hard time making out the sprite until you posted it in that revised palette there. I have a hard time distinguishing greys, but a lot of people do, so the more "pop", the better.

if you want to be more realistic in a way. try getting some reference off of john talbain from dark stalkers. He doesn't walk like a human , but rather creeps. Maybe not what you are looking for, but at least its a great start so far.

and yes. spriting fur can be real tricky.
