Hide applications on Macs

I know this question seems trivial but I'm hoping for a response none-the-less.

I was wondering if there was a way to hide applications or maybe have them have a different name and icon. And if so would everything work smoothly? I'm still learning my Mac... so far I love it!

lolrofl

Actually, he can. Just use BootCamp.

Xaixis: Right-click on an app in the dock, and choose HIDE. If you need to edit anything, install the Developer Tools on Disc 2, and Right-Click on the App in FINDER. "Show Package Contents". Locate the *.icns file in Resources and replace it. Edit the Info.plist to change the name.

ALSO, MacPorts and XQuartz installed on that rig- Run some real GTK apps.

Well, I found a way to easily do something like this for files. I haven't tried it with applications.

I simply created a spare image using the disk utility and made a separate drive password protected =)
