I just came across this site and I think its a great community to get some feedback.
I used to be active in rpg-making 3 years ago, but as it's often the case life kinda came in between xD
Because I started to study Philosophy last year, which is awesome and terible at the same time, I found new inspiration, so I'm trying to get back into the system of the lovely RMXP again. I looked at VX but I dont think it's for me...

hey, welcome. I'm kind of interested in what you'll come up with gamewise, since you have a small background in philosophy instead of just having played every jrpg ever like half the people on this forum.

and yeah, XP is much more accessible. VX's scripting system is stronger, so it's possible to do some cool things with it that you couldn't have done in XP, but none of them are necessities, and for someone who's not big on programming Ruby (or buddies with someone who is,) XP is probably the better choice, if only because its mapping system isn't so terrible.

Philosophy, huh? Any ideas what kind of games you're looking to make?

I'm kind of interested in what you'll come up with gamewise, since you have a small background in philosophy instead of just having played every jrpg ever like half the people on this forum.

I am finishing the last part of the sory at the moment,so I can tell you that it will be a game, or better a project (as I don't know if it will really fit into the category of a "game"), without a battle system and that stuff. I'm not 100% sure how I'm gonna realize it but it will definately be low on interaction, most likely full cinematic. People might not like that at all, having no interaction or game play, but as i only want to tell a story its the best way to do it I guess. Gameplay would only hinder me in the process of making it...if that makes sense...hehe.
It will deal with certain philosophical elements of ethics. Moral values and morality in general will be a topic as well as methaphysics, the questions about existence and whats beyond, and I'm also gonna borrow elements like the 'allegory of the cave', which I'm already excited about creating that visually.
Also I think I never really played even one jrpg Oo
I haven't played many games in general so I reckon that's one reason why it's hard for me to create an actual game and I'm gonna try to tell the story in my head this way xD
