Found out today a painting of mine won 2nd place at a mural competition my local Renaissance Festival was holding! (The theme was "nautical")

(Acrylic paint on primed plywood; 2'x4' ... The blue & white paints are that kind with mica powder in it, so they'd "shimmer", as if they were water. Kind of corny but it looked neat IRL; makes the water look kind of non-blended in photos though.)
I'm all stoked :D
This thing took me less than 5 hours (including primer & clear weather coating), and I cheated by referencing other images (it was just to get free tix; I hadn't expected to be proud of it), but I'm still stoked anyway
I haven't felt terribly creative or artistic in years. A friend of mine goaded me into painting to get "free" tickets, and now that I know other people thought it was worth voting for, I'm suddenly feeling the need to create things again.
I guess I spent so long squirreling my art away, never showing it to anyone, that I forgot I am sort of decent at it.

Anyway just wanted to share!
Also hello etc etc
