Hey, I have a problem.

I'm new here, so if this is in the wrong place I apologized. I tried clicking on the link which takes you to the place you direct your problems/questions, but instead got 'HTTP 404 Not Found'. But I digress.

Anyways, I've used RPG Maker XP for 5 days or so, and think I have the gist of it pretty well. I created a short game, and now are ready to broaden by horizon's, and make a much larger game. I decided to import a tileset from another source for this new game. I have gone through all the passable bits and bobs around that.

So, my game starts inside of the characters house. He has to listen to a message, before leaving the house. This is where my problem starts. I have transported him to the tile infront of the door of his house, but he cannot move. He can turn to each 4 sides, but can't move. It isn't because the tiles aren't set to passable, because they are, but he still can't move.

Any help would be vastly appreciated. Thanks.

Awesome Bro

Hmm, is it maybe because your event is an "Auto-start" event, if so, try ticking "Parallel Process" instead, and see if that works for you, if not, then try adding an "Erase Event" command after the Transfer process.

Post back and tell me how that goes, if it doesn't work, try posting a screenshot of the event, and I'll see if it could be anything else.

Edit; I've just thought, when you were designing the map for the outside, did you erase anything using an empty tile from the tileset, if so, make sure you used the topleft most tile, as that is the correct one to use, using any other blank tiles can cause passability problems such as the ones you are having.

First of all, thanks for replying. Unfortunatly, I have tried all the things you have said, to no avail. Here is a screenshot of the transfer:

And then, on this one, the red x marks where the character should be transfered to:

It's just a pretty run of the mill transfer really. Thanks once again for your help.

Hmm, well if it isn't to do with your event, have you made sure you don't have any invisible tiles anywhere ? Like maybe on the second or third layer ? If so, delete them (You'll be able to tell if they're there).

If that still doesn't work, then I honestly don't have a clue, since this hasn't really happened with me before, unless the reason was one of the two I mentioned.

None of that stuff has worked i'm afraid. Even setting the starting position on the same map as where i want the transfer to go isn't working. Must be something up with the map?

Set the starting position to somewhere away from the transfer event and see if it can walk around.

I have done, and nothing :/

Any other ideas? Maybe I could send it to one of you if you have a closer look for me?

EDIT: Just saw your post Dylan, shall I upload it to Megaupload or something like that?
