That is 1 layer of a 75x75 Hex-based map.

I just need a visual editor. something which at the very least shows the above in a hex format. It is really annoying trying to edit one of these for hours just to add a road...

Can anyone help me?

Have you tried mappy? I believe you can export the maps as plain text.

To assist me in making maps for a game I currently play. It uses text files to tell it what goes where. The problem is that there is no way to tell where you are putting things for the map with a text file. So I need an editor to allow me to visually see what is where...

It might be helpful for whoever is trying to help you to know more about the actual structure of the game you're referring to. While it might use text, information about: how many layers, how many files, what image files to load and so on would be useful.

Hum,if I got what you want right, I actually have a General map editor, which could easily be edited to do what you want, still I would need the exact format of what to export and what not, and I might throw something back at you.

So you just want to a level editor to export in a txt format right?

The numbers should correspond with the order they are in on the tilesheet... (Which i really should make.)
Needs to load a terrain set. 8 images and a 'fluff' set, dunno how many off the top of my head, but symbols and letters will be used beyond 9...
