(Forgive me for my ADD; I am poor at staying on one project at a time)


Story
CURRENTLY NO INTRICATE STORY LINE! Basic Story: A Japanese man works alongside his fellow villagers to rebuild their war-torn village by increasing the economy, selling produce to buy materials used for village repair + expansion, and joining an army to put an end to their deadly rivals.

Gameplay
The game play style of HERO is a farm simulator/third-person action cross.
The battle system experienced in HERO is on-map (think Blizz-ABS)
Features in game will include:
-Growing crops, raising live-stock, and selling produce for money
-Using money to purchase materials and using materials to aid in village expansion(greater the village, more villagers, bigger army ; ; Numbers seen only during battle)
-Talking to villagers and helping them out to increase their contentedness as content villagers produce more (In this case the more you do for someone the more items they'll have to sell you).
-Joining the army to help defend the city
(Things may be added/removed as the development process continues)

Hotaka is just an ordinary man with extraordinary plans; A proud Japanese man and citizen of Grasshopper Village, Hotaka has a hard time accepting the state that his village is in after being attacked by Sparrow Village and dedicates his entire existence to returning Grasshopper Village to its former glory and eventually to the destruction of Sparrow Village.

Dog is Hotaka's guard dog and is used as an alert system and defense unit against invading forces. Players are given the opportunity to purchase dog later on in the story.

Yes; I believe I made the setting in Edo era Japan so you will be limited to the tools and crops + animals available during that time period. I'm not going to be SUPER strict about it since I'm not a Ancient Japanese historian and being 100% accurate in video games is boring as hell, however, I'll be doing my best to make it feel like Edo era Japan (minus the peacefulness).

What I'm thinking of doing is either slightly forcing the player to have to follow the main story-line to make skirmishes part of the actual quest-line or having random days where a villager will knock on your door and aware you of an impending attack on a certain day for you to kind of quickly prepare yourself for battle (in case you were planning on upgrading your troops but were waiting for a later day since being under-powered and unable to progress in the game would make the entire game proper pointless).

an alternative I guess would be farming for half the game then transitioning to battle once the town was upgraded enough then just having the setting take place on the battle-field where you do various missions for commanding troops to help progress across the land to your destination point of Sparrow Village all the while fighting in skirmishes during these quests/upon reaching certain checkpoints.

I'm not really focused on this project so much as just wanted to have a thread open to add to when I'm bored of working on my TPB project but I will try to update this as much as I can.
