helpzzz [make event disappear when returning to map]

how to you make an event not come back,EVER. i tried the self swiches but when i come back to the same screen it comes back plese help.
 
If you have Erase Event, it will always come back. So if you have this before the self switch, it's gonna screw the event up.

Basically, what you want to do is to have your event, then Self Switch A= ON. Once it's on, it should go to the second page. Empty, no graphic (unless you want it to have one) and self switch A ON for pre-conditions. This will cause only page 2 to execute once A is ON.

If you're talking about an Autorun event (like a cutscene or something), then you could also turn on a switch at the end of the event.  And then do the same thing FireRaven suggested: 1.) Create a new page within the event,  2.) On the left of that page where it has conditions, check the switch that you just turned on (ie - if "switch 3" is ON, then do this), 3.) Leave the page blank and make sure it's not an autorun event (I usually leave it on "action" or something). 

If there are characters involved in your cutscene that you want to disappear, you can also create new pages within their events, checking the switch that turned on at the end of the autorun event, and then leaving that new page completely blank.
 
i put on the self switch and everything but what i am saying is when you leave the screen and come back the event starts from the begining how do i make it go away for good even if i come back.
 
You need to use switches for it. Any eent you want to disappear needs to have a new event page that is activated when that switch is on, and that page needs to be completely blank. That way, if the player leaves and comes back, that event will be on the blank event page because the switch is on, and it won't do anything.

And, as was mentioned before, anything else you want to disappear needs to have a blank event page as well that is activated by the switch you turn on.
