Help with quick timer events

For all those who have played shenmue you will no what a qte is for those who dont ill explain in a minute.

i need a script or possibly clever eventing to able me to put these into my game ive tried with events and had no luck. ive also searched with no luck

so whats a QTE basicly in a cut scene a button will flash up on the screen for a few seconds and the player has to push the button. if they do it fast eough they progress to either futher qte or the end of the cut scene if the do not press it fast enough they progress futher or have to start again.
