help with picture placement

hello there
i need help with placing a picture on the screen, well i guess what i need help with is, i have a light effect thing and i want it to stay on top of the light in the game, but when i move, it follows me, i want to know how to make the picture stay in one spot, so i can move around the town without a light following me around, and i want to know if there is an easy way to make a bunch of lights like this switch off when i go inside a building and switch back on when i exit the building... thanx

*EDIT* i forgot to mention, could someone make this work with variables, or would it be alot of work for more than one....

i think i've seen this before.... and it worked for the most part, but it didnt help me figure out how to place the picture on the map using the variables... so if someone can help me do that then it would be great, otherwise this thread can be closed, i figured it out using events... variables just seem like they would be easier and then i could control them all at the same time...

To make them all switch off just erase all the pictures. To make them go back on you should turn on the respective switch/switches.
