Okay, I've been working on this for the past three hours, and it's driving me absolutely batshit insane. I'm trying to make this:

I'm not worried about the fact that right now my progress is in color. I know how to do THAT. It's just putting together the rest of the design (not to mention the actual tablet itself) that's driving me bonkers. I REALLY, REALLY need help/suggestions/advice/examples/anything with this as it's a VERY important part of my game.

Looks really good but after you've done it at this angle and stuff i suggest you adjust the perspective using photoshop.

skyla what are u talking about you mention color in your first post, nothing about changing perspective so it look like its at the appropriate angel, that picture is from the show so its going to be a matter of you actually trying to achieve the look with practice i doubt someone will give u an example of this because you have the picture from the show which is also the best reference

She doesn't want the slab to be at that angle. Unfortunately that is the only decent reference picture she was able to find for this particular resource, so unless anyone is able to find another one that is half way decent...this is pretty much it.

Too me your being pretty ignorant...you mentioned nothing about perspective at all...you just mentioned the colour is already a motive you are doing after its basis is done.

And all i say to you is chenge the perspective and you go all sarcastic ass...if you can't reply to criticism properly dont ever bother posting again...stop being sarcastic to everyones comments they are all trying to help you!

Stop bickering please- she asked for help on how to go about the incredible detail of the piece- wheteher she mentioned perspective or not, it's not an issue. Certainly not one to get all fussy about.

This may not be any help at all, but any offer to help is better than no offer at all. This is regarding creating the detail in the background without having to do everything from scratch. If it's not helpful to you, no worries - you only waste 20 seconds in reading this post ^_^

Taking a close look at the larger picture on page one, I can see this is obviously much more than just writing on the wall behind them. However, a useful start may be to grab some hieroglyphic fonts which vaguely match the setting, write them into the background and then gradually edit them into shapes more like what you're after. It may save you some work.

Then again it may not, but there's no harm in mentioning the idea.
