I really don't know what to say... to be honest I think I like it the way it is at the moment, there is just something not right about that shade of green.. it makes my eyes want to evacuate there sockets I prefer "lol2" though as it has less of the green and a much calmer look although I think you should make the gradient extend for a little longer as the contrast is very high at the moment :D

Pretty cool. Two things (minor) though : the ads don't really fit (perhaps re-style them?), and the W3C buttons are too big (imho). I think there are smaller, sleeker ones. But really, those two things are minor details. The rest is great.

Looks like you have a minor bug in your login script, the front page greets me with "Hi, Despain!" over in the right hand corner and gives me links to your user CP and Staff Panel, although the links don't actually work.  You may not be properly destroying sessions on logout or something.

Edit:  Nevermind, I guess none of the links work, I take it it's just a mockup

Yeah, it's just the basic layout. Demonfire will be doing the php coding once I have all the pages themselves made, so it isn't a functioning site now. That's why it's tucked away in /kirby.

So far people seem sold on the recent layout, so it's the one I'll be sticking with. Thanks to everybody who helped me progress this far, look forward to the site when it's completed.

And this doesn't mean that I'm not still open to any criticisms you might have- there's always the oppurtunity to improve.

Yes, the layout by the way seems very straightforward and navigable, not too cluttered, easy to figure out how to navigate.  I really love the layout of the top level nav bar, it feels like it sort of draws the page together to that central point, and navigation is a great place to direct the eye.  You're not quite perfectly centered, if you fixed the banner perfectly on the center line of the nav bar it'd improve it a little (about 5-10px to the right if I had to guess).

I'm not sold on the colors entirely, I actually thought the earlier green/black/white scheme was cleaner.  I'm not a big fan of juxtaposing rich blues and reds though, and that may be just a personal taste thing.  If I were to use the blue and red colors I would try to integrate them into the page more, say by using some reds and blues in the headers and into the background, maybe a graduated pattern from blue to red, left to right, over the black - pinstripes or scanlines or something?

Ok, personally i think the header section looks totally out of place with the rest of the site, it's much too wide, it should be as wide as the entire layout. With the newer designs this becomes even more apparent. Not only that, its blockiness looks out of place with the round sleek green sections. I like where your trying to go, i just don't think your quite getting there yet.
