HELP CANT BOOT INTO XP! [solved] :)

Same here.  I have Vista, and the only problems I've ever had were either on my part (messing with the registry) or the program's fault, not the OS's fault.

Well I Really Shouldnt Be Running Vista Ultimate Because i dont have enough ram :(
so i had to disable the sidebar and many extras.

I just don't like vista... honestly, I think XP SP3 with Vista Skin is awesome... That's what I do, it's the look of Vista without the crap...

BTW, I have a Alienware computer only a year old, and Vista sux on it. Which is why I had to boot XP on it afterwards...

XP > Vista

Uugh that Vista skin pack with rocket dock is the most obnoxious thing ever, I know a guy who installs it on just about every PC he touches. Ick-Y.

A good idea is to stay off of resizing windows partitions. I might be wrong, but I don't think Windows supports live resizing. I know HFS does, and ext3 probably does too. NTFS is just a bummer-

@Cocoa: NTFS does support live partition resizing in SP2+ but you have to convert the partition to a special type to do it, and it becomes incompatible with dual-booting in my experience when you do. The tradeoff is not worth the benefit in most cases. The better option is to keep to seperate drives these days, IMO. It's much cheaper than it used to be, and if you've had a few PCs you're liable to have some spare smaller drives laying around to experiment on.

I just end up taking those drives, and shoving them into an enclosure. :3

I usually run two drives if I dual-boot. I install Windows first on my Master, and then install Ubuntu on the Slave.
