My name is Mike, and I've been using RMXP for about a year. I recently switched to RMVX, which I actually like a little better...
I happened upon these forums while searching for scripts, as I am still learning ruby, and am not good enough to write my own scripts yet.
Hopefully I will be able to give some valuable input, share some of my projects, and meet others who have the same interest in RMXP and story telling as I do.
I am a published writer, mostly journalism pieces for local papers, etc... It's kind of something I just fell into because of my love of story telling. It's a bit amusing, as my spelling and grammar suck... haha... it definatly makes for a lot of editing, and numerous drafts before I submit something.
I also wrote a comic book called LUCID, but it never made it past the penciling stages. Lack of time and money made me can the project.
I did six years in the united states military, and have lived in Italy off and on over the last 5 years...
I am currently self employed, and plan on returning to school sometime soon to finish my degree...
That's about all I have to say, but I hope to get to know you guys, and share resources :D

Welcome to our digs Mike. What kind of stories do you do for your local fishwrap? Do you have an opinion column? Or do you freelance whatever they have on the board like local politics and human interest stories?

What kind of comic was Lucid? Were you also drawing it?

To answer all the questions...

I do all of my journalism pieces freelance... Basically just write and submit.
When I was in military, I wrote various articles for the base paper that had to do with various aircrafts, missions, etc.

I did not draw lucid. I just wrote it. I actually got an artist from finland to draw it up based on my script. His name was Jukka Rasmus, and he is a really good artist.
I will post a link to the pencil work if the mods allow it...

I was in the United States Navy. I am currently in the process of re-enlisting in the national guard.

Mike go ahead and post a link, I'm interested. Anyway Navy eh. I had a buddy who was an engineer on a ship, a destroyer I think. He ran the engines. I had another old navy vet who was an a radio operative on an aircraft carried in the late sixties. What did you do, mainly?

I actually was thinking of using a few of the illustrations in a RMVX game, but haven't done anything with it yet...

In the Navy I worked administration, and also Security.
I did six years, but never went on a ship... Was stationed on Air stations, one in Southern California (for 2 years) and the other base was in Sicily (for four years)
