Hey guys and girls,

I thought I'd introduce myself and become a proper part of this community as an eager games design student I hope to pass my knowledge unto you and show some of my work as I progress. As far as an introduction can go my name is Matthew, 20 years old, eye colour changes hourly, my interests include: Reading, writing, programming, concept art, swimming, cycling, music (classical, instrumental hip hop, rock), writing music, chess, keeping in shape, studying (Yes, I actually enjoy it but not too much). Bit of a loner, but I have a few select friends and my fiancé.

As for a career I have chosen the path of a level designer as it gives me a large plane to work on and add my flare.

level design in what regard? I'm assuming it's something 3D, given the times, but what sort of games do you work on? it sounds like an interesting field, but I know zero about it.

I dislike hip hop lyrics, but the beats are really nice. Although there is a really good composer out there called Nujabes, check out his albums if you haven't already heard of him.

Level design includes the concept art behind the scene, the research into the history (Imagine a Mayan village level), then the 3D modeling, textures, working with artists and music developers to get the right feel, then with the programmers to decide on things to add to add any special traits to the level.
