This is a long time coming and since there are always threads springing up/other threads going off on tangents involving FASHIONCHAT, I think we could probably just use one megathread to chat about that stuff! Post here if you're looking for advice, found an awesome thing, want to brag, thinking about making a purchase, whatever!

What kind of makeup do you prefer?
How do you typically dress?
What's your skin/hair routine?
Where do you getcher clothes?

personally, I do a lot of online shopping for clothes because Oklahoma is pretty terrible. My favorite store atm, that I didn't even discover until recently is yesstyle. The clothes aren't the highest quality, so you're stuck handwashing them if you want them to last very long. They're sooo cute though, and surprisingly afforable. It's harder than you'd think to find nice clothes for a petite frame that don't make you look really young. :I

It's also wonderful how a "favorite outfit" can boost your confidence, if only for a day. I have terrible self-confidence, but I bought this dress recently and it got here last weekend:

and the day I wore it I felt like a total rockstar. (still not even close to being daring enough to wear it without anything on my legs, though. i told myself i was wearing tights because of the chilly weather but that was only part of it honestly!) I've got my eye on this one next.

As for makeup, I usually go with the standard smokey eye with a bit of a purple sheen, but lately I've fallen in love with MAC's Hello Kitty stuff. I know, Hello Kitty, rargh blah, but it's all just so bright and colorful. It looks great when you can just go all-out and you don't have to be all professional, and there's so many different looks that you can do with!

YAY! A girl's topic (and more!).

I always wear cover-up and blush, but when I wear contacts add black eye-liner to that list. I also wear lip gloss. XD

I shop for my clothes where-ever Star takes me, but I like Kohl's and Target a lot.

One advice I've been dying to ask other chicks, is what's a good way to get a clear, smooth skin complexion? This kills my self-confidence the most, followed by my weight/glasses. >.>

@strawberry
I'm honestly not sure - do you actually have acne or just skin irritation? A lot of what product you should use depends on what type of skin you have i.e. oily, dry, etc.

@jbrist
ouch! I've been using mascara and eyeliner for yeaarrs and I do that almost every morning. :I

I have acne (not like a teenage pizza face), but the most random break-outs ever. I know most of it deals with my depression - which gives me stress. I use like any product I see in the store, but most of the time they do nothing. o.o It's not just looks, but sometimes you can feel them or this itch too much. Just annoying. I could scream about it. XD

do you have health insurance or a physician that you regularly go to? if you talked to them they could possibly hook you up with actual medication for it or they could refer you to a dermatologist

I've been getting a little classier with my clothing tastes lately, although that basically boils down to some weird metro-hipster mix. I have pretty much the perfect body type for double-breasted jackets, peacoats, and et cetera, although everyone and their dog wears a peacoat nowaday and it's sort of embarrassing. Besides that, it's pretty basic! I just wake up, shower, straighten my hair, and am out the door. What efficiency!

If you're just going for off-the-counter acne treatments there are none that are really effective, and most of them leave your skin super dry or irritated anyway. It's like half preventative -- make sure you're getting enough vitamins, particularly potassium. Bananas are full of it and are delicious!

(A dermatologist sounds like a better idea actually. A lot of people just get acne regardless of diet -- my dad still has trouble with it sometimes at age 50!

There's a prescription they can give you that works wonders, but the one drawback is that you sunburn really easily while using it since it messes with your skin chemistry. aaaaaa I wish I could remember what it was called!)

I don't. I kind of just moved down here over a year and a half ago. :X I don't know how to set that kind of stuff up randomly when I don't get sick. O_oa Seeing someone like that would be awesome for me, though.

I should totally get some vitamins and I love eating bananas. I just bought the cutest plush banana keychain thingy. I can't wait until it arrives. I think I'll try to remember to buy some vitamins at the store.

school "uniform" involves a white collared shirt and black/kahki pants.
As you can expect i wear the blandest variation (ie none) of that.
I like wearing jeans cause they feel better than most everything else and gives you lots of freedom and movement while being a bit warm at the same time. Black shirt usually accompanies this. And from august-april I wear a black jacket all day :x

sadly nough i know how to do nails/manicure and pedicure and shit. Beyond that no real sense of fashion.

Awesome Bro

Yeah, I just wear a band shirt with jeans and converse, both tightfit and baggy jeans will suffice, and for the summer I usually switch to cargo pants, lol... now that's fashion!

Most days (Monday through Saturday) I dress in long sleeve shirts, usually white with vertical stripes, pants (any color), shoes (black or brown), belt and a tie. I prefer patterned ties, but striped ties are generally okay. The only accessory I ever wear is a golden tie pin with a "J" (for Juan). I used to have a silver pocket watch, but it was stolen from me. I dress this way because I have to go every single day to a hospital and attend patients. To be honest, I like the feeling of a tie pressing against my neck. I also wear glasses. These are brown and wide. They're a bit old, but I think they're classy. I tried using contact lenses a few years back, but I find them to be an incredible nuisance. Whenever I'm in the United States, I shop at Tommy, Gap, Nautica, Banana Republic or Keneth Cole. Here in Costa Rica, I shop at Zara and Saúl E. Méndez, which I doubt anyone of you know. To be perfectly honest, I've bought one item of clothing in the past two years (a pair of shoes). Most of my clothes are gifts from my family.

EDIT: When I'm on call I get to wear navy blue scrubs and crocs.

Strawberry, St. Ives puts out a nice exfoliating scrub. I'd use it. There are also tons of more natural acne treatments. I wouldn't go for the harsh chemical ones. They just strip your face of the natural oils it needs.

As far as skin care, I use the costco age-defying thing. I don't have wrinkles or anything, but I do have dry skin. I find it hydrates my skin nicely. It's worked better than regular lotions in keeping my face more hydrated. I do that every day for the SPFs and at night when I have time.

Because I do that, I don't really need much makeup. When I do use makeup, I use Bare Essential mineral makeup. I don't use it often though. Only special events. Sometimes I wear mascara and lipstick because my face is very smooth and doesn't really need the foundation and powder and stuff.

As for what I wear, I'm more basic with that. I have a kid. It's going to get slimed. I usually wear jeans and a tshirt.
