- About Haydyn's Fable
I want to thank all of you of the RMXP.org community who have taken an interest in this project. Truly your interests and support have made making this game a true pleasure. When I was very young I very much enjoyed writing. I wrote stories since I was in grade school and have done so until now when I am a University Student. For past times, I've role played in various games such as Dungeons and Dragons, where I can use the game as an extension of my stories. Since I was a child, it has been my dream to make video games. Simply because, in my mind, the story that YOU ARE APART OF has a higher aspect on character growth, and how that character affects you, the player. Games have the potential to pull at your heart and provoke your thoughts and emotions when made at the hands of an artist. I truly believe gaming is storytelling at its best.
With that being said, it is my wish to bring themes into Haydyn's Fable that many players can relate with. I want the player to know the struggle that Haydyn endures on a personal level. I want to make you smile and laugh at times, and others... It is my hope that you will feel sorrow and sadness, and cry as the story is revealed to you. I want YOU to be apart of the story. If you go through the story without feeling any one of these emotions, then I as a storyteller, have failed my primary goal. So, know that this is the goal that has been taken into consideration throughout the developement of this game.
Story Elements
"May death take me ten thousand times if the damned can find salvation."
I was a child...
Born into the world as innocent as any other child. Raised among a family with morals and values like many typical families. I had a father, mother, and brother... and I loved them. I had friends... and I had cared for them. I had ambition, and I thrived from it. I had dreams, and I sought after them. Most importantly, I was living and I enjoyed it.
I was a man...
My father and brother were killed in the war, and my mother a suicide. I was thrown into the world, before I was of age, on my own... and alone. My young innocent soul had became corrupt by the mere brutality of the past, and I lost sight of what used to matter to me. I had lusted, and I fulfilled my pleasures. I was greedy, and would take what I could for myself. I became envious of others, and that envy turned to hate. I was corrupt, I was miserable... I was alone.
I was a monster...
Placed in a uniform to serve my king at a young age, I was thrown onto the battlefield. My life was changed. Living wasn't fulfilling my pleasures, or pursuing personal happiness. Living was making it through the night, and seeing the light of day again. I had killed... and after so long of having nothing except for my sword. Killing became my vice... my sport. I had killed, and while my victims would scream in agony, pulling on me helplessly as crimson bubbled from their mouths, all the while I was smiling... happy of my feat. I was blood-thirsty... blood-drunk. And while killing seemed to be a game to me, my feats made me recognized from those I did not expect.
I was immortal...
I had been to many places, participated in many battles and rarely was there a man on the battlefield who did not know my name. I was an idol to other soldiers, one of the best in the world. I had became so used to killing that I never realized just how good at it I was. My name was one that was glorified in Baldoria, and feared in Imeril.
I was suffering...
Long I had been numb to the screams and memories of life that I had ripped away by my own hands and shattered from this world. But in time, their screams would return, and I could not block them out. I had nightmares, dreams of my doings, and what haunted me most, is they were all real. What seemed to be enough to scare any man to death was the reality I had lived and enjoyed like a hellbound demon with no chance of redeeming himself. And when the sun would fall beneath the horizon, I would find myself, alone again, and nothing but the haunting echoes of my past to keep me company.
Haydyn's Fable is the story about a man's attempt to redeem himself for his past misdeeds. Many innocent women and children were killed at the hand of Haydyn as he and the Vaananites ravaged the land of Imeril during the 1000 Year War. Brainwashed by the teachings of the Vaananites, he had found himself a souless entity with no emotion or personal feeling. He was convinced that the only one thing that mattered in the world, was that Vaan's will be done. Only is it by chance that his journeys bring him to the resting place of his father, the last extension to his past before the war.
In the abrupt arousal of past memories and new truths to be revealed to him, Haydyn finds himself questioning his life and the man that he has become. With the good memories, so did the haunting ones make their appearance. In the struggle of dealing with his sins, Haydyn fights to find salvation. Every day is a fight to live with his haunting past, and pave a way for brighter future. But how can one man move forward with so many soul-scars holding him back?
In this tale, you assume the role of Haydyn, as he searches for salvation, and ultimately a new purpose to live for.

The Gods
Vaan
Vaan is the God of War, Power, and Fire. He is an idol of the Baldorian people and the primary cause for the Vaananite Crusades. While the Baldorians also believe in the value of knowledge, Strength and Power has been two words that all Baldorians have heard many times and are asked to make a part of their lifestyle as they live their lives.
Ayendel
Ayendel is the Arcane Goddess of Wisdom. It is said that her strongest followers are believed to be able to wield powers that only were believed to be meant for the gods themselves. The most common word for these special and unique abilities is magic. The Continent of Imeril and the people of its lands are known to be extreme worshipers of Ayendel. While their military strength is not as close to that of Baldoria, their ability and profession in the Arcane Arts have been the greatest aid in defending their lands for the past Millennium.
Tumamat
Tumamat is the god of Wealth and Fortune. He is worshiped by the southern yellow skinned people of Turname. Turname was once invaded by Baldoria in recent years, however, now Turname is neutral to the Baldoria-Imeril Conflict.

Baldoria
Baldoria was once a very prosperous nation that relied on trade as the success of the empire. Because of its great size and various landscapes that were found across the continent, it had a high value of natural resources. It was because of this, that Baldoria had become the leader in world trade. The kings of this age were known to be benevolent for the most part. Like all men, they had their vices and secrets. But never were they power hungry. This was to change when the Vaananites would rise to power.
South-Eastern Baldoria was largely populated with what is known by most people as the Vaananites. Their influence was spread from as far south as Port Vadinor to the realm near the Gaia Hills, (the largest mountains in Haldora, which later became known as the Holy Mountains, by the Vaananites.) known as Forenath. The core of this religious sect was found in Rohiris, just south of the Holy Mountains.
The Core of their beliefs focused around the theme that the weak will perish, and only the strong are fit to live amongst the world. Their Idol, was Vaan, and hence their name. Vaan was the god of War, the god of Fire, and the God of Power. It was believed that the Vaananites must press their strength among the heretics that did not believe in the code of the Vaananites. Their deaths would be sacrifices to Vaan, and to convert a heretic was considered much more rewarding than killing one. This was the belief that started the Praxis of Purification.
South Baldoria revolted against the empire… marching the armies forth, they went through every village and town of Baldoria where they tortured the populous until they would convert to Vaananite ways. In the first stages of this movement, there were a few strong spirited men and women who tried to resist, and denounced Vaan as their god. They however, were quickly killed… these examples destroyed the morale of the nation. The Vaananites were strong warriors, skilled and trained. Baldoria, at this time, had not a very strong military force save for the Carnethian Knights.
The Vaananite movement after many years engulfed the whole of Baldoria. All that remained to be taken by them was the Capitol City of Carnethia. The Carnethian Knights assembled a strong defensive force, though their numbers were few… these brave warriors stood against the Vaananites as they surrounded the city though the Carnethians were greatly outnumbered. King Ithilar, known by those who lived in this era as “The Last Good King of Baldoriaâ€, had fought in this battle himself. Ithilar and the Knights fought valiantly to the death. The battle lasted 3 hours. All five hundred Knights were slain, as well as King Ithilar, though many more Vaananites were killed in the battle. Daegadan, the Leader of the Vaananites, had a ceremonial burial for the fallen king, as he was very impressed by the fight Ithilar and his knights had given him.
This era was known as “The First Warâ€.
Daegadan now led the entire continent of Baldoria and for the next five millenniums, Baldoria had been under Vaananite Control. The Sect viewed other eastern cultures such as Surname and Imeril as heretics and savages. A racial hate had grown for these two groups, Imeril especially. The Baldorians launched a Crusade continually for the span of 1000 years to Imeril. The Imerils had resisted however, and repelled these attacks each time. This was the Era of the 1000 year war.

Imeril
The Land of Imeril is the second most powerful nation on the face of Haldora. The lands surrounding the Northern Mountains, known as the Saydian Mountains, are dry wastelands known as the Imeril Wastes, containing few villages or towns. In truth, there is only one settlement that lies in the Saydian Pass. This was the independent settlement of Sayda-Adin. To the south of the Imeril Wastes, there are lush jungles and rain forests. At the Northern most part of this great forest, is the Capitol City of Algeren, the center of the Imeril Empire.
The Imerae people had dark skin and dark hair much like the color of the burnt sand of the Wastes. Their eyes were usually a golden brown, and in rare cases, dark blue. Their traditions were very devout towards the Goddess Galanthiel or “Lady Galanthielâ€.
