Hayden Blanchette - Pop Star

Okay, following the nagative criticism of my Sophia Adora pic (which was pretty old by the way... I don't know what I was thinking posting it...) I have decided to do what Shirobon did at the end of episode 16... For those of you who haven't seen Bomberman Jetters, I basically mean, instead of giving up due to discouragement, I'm going on a long, arduous quest to better myself.

Here's something I came up with while I was working on getting my proportions and anatomy right. She's not from Axel either, but that doesn't really matter. She's a really popular teen star in a similar sense as Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Hanna Montana etc. Anyway, go ahead and say whatever you need to say about it...

much much better than the princess, my main recommendation to you on this one is from the belt down, her legs are a bit too slender, and the right leg (her right) is a bit off on the shape, the torso is great, just keep drawing from reference and fine tune proportions.

i have a question, what are you drawing with? if youre drawing with a pen, i would probably start out with a pencil, and basicly what you have here, if it was done in pencil, i would then go thru and clean up your lines and get rid of that sketchy outline you have, other than that i have no more real critique, its just a matter of practice practice practice.

try drawing more from real life, it doesnt matter what you draw, just sit in your room with a pad of paper and draw...anything. pay attention to detail and try to draw as realistically as possible. drawing from life will set up the foundation for drawing from your imagination. maybe have one of your friends pose for you, just have them stand, sit or lay down. and only give yourself 30 seconds to quickly sketch them, then move up to 45 seconds and a minute, finally do one 5 minute. this is called gesture drawing, it helps you quickly and accurately begin to capture a pose and proportions quickly to then go into detail on. and get yourself a good image heavy anatomy book, mostly on muscles, understanding the muscle structure will help you tremendously to understand what is on top of that structure. take for instance when i draw a picture, i start out with a very sloppy loose sketch for the pose, then go in with muscle structure, then a final outline. so gesture/pose > structure/anatomy > cleanup > detail

Edit: i noticed something else id like to point out, the center of her stomach and the center of her pants dont line up, look at the lines you have coming down on the stomach, the center and side lines, follow those lines down until they intersect in kind of an underwear shape, that will give you your crotch area shape, from there follow the flow of her hips to get the outside edge of her thighs.

Babykins, please keep all your art in one topic. Seperate topics for different projects are okay if you have a sizable body of work for each but I'd prefer not to have the board spammed with HAY NEW PICTURE.

As a personal recomendation i'd avoide refrencingyour life to anime in general.

Ok doll, we've got some improvment here and it's not gone unnoticed. a.) the breasts apear to be normal, as does the body shape, the hair is better and the arms and shoulders arent a complete disaster.

You've still got a few fun issues going on in the head, it still lacks shape and depth, (i'll see if i can dig up a wire frame for reference later.) and her low riding jeans don't line up with the curve of the rest of her body. I assume that you just start drawing outlines imidiatly, annnnd that's not so good. U should really start with working from an under structure (a wire frame/stick figure model that you build 3d forms on top of. I'm on vacation and away from myhome desktop so i can't quickly whip up an example for you.)

This is significantly less tragic than the previous image but u've still got some travels ahead of you (as do we all)
