Having problems with a wired connection

(my connection is a wired cable/DSL modem btw, using a second temp connection to troubleshoot)
Last night, my connection was all fine and dandy until I got up this morning. Instead of having access to it and it being set as a home network, it was set to unidentified and public and I now have no internet access on the network. I can't change the network type either, it's stuck as public.

System Information
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x64 (build 7601)
Motherboard: Asus M4A87TD (USB 3.0)
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960T @3.0 GHz
RAM: Mushkin 2GB DDR3-SDRAM PC3-12800 x4 (8 GB)
Video: Zotac GeForce GTS 250 @512MB memory
Sound: Via HD audio

Since it's DSL, you're probably using PPPoE; did your ISP give you any info including a username and password? If you've reset or done anything with the modem, likely you'll need to put those back in.

Know what model of modem you're using? And the router as well, why not?
