New version uploaded 14th April

.hack themed mmorpg using netplay+ 1

Just added a few maps and monsters, oh yes, and changed the new game spawning point and encrypted the savefiles, so you'll have to start again :-/ The continue choice is grayed out for some reason, I'll change that at some point. I still need chaos gate graphics, so if you think you can make one, then check out the recruitment.
Almost forgot! Added some more music, so it's 4 meg.

In Dot Hack's original World, there were six classes.

* Blademaster
* Heavy Axeman
* Heavy Blade
* Long Arm
* Twin Blade
* Wavemaster

May add the 3 expansion classes.

This game is based on all the dot hack series. If you expect this to be based solely on the games, then you'll be surprised to find that it has features that didn't appear in the games. Such as the sick Grunties, shown in dot hack sign.

If you run out of money in the root town, then there are boxes to attack. (Attack is "S" on the keyboard) or open the chest in the pub.

I'm not too familiar with RMXP games and making them online capable, but I register my name, and when I try to login I get a name/pass error. I don't know how that works.

Ah, it's quite interesting. I really wish someone would start a MMO and finish it. Most of the time the ones that do get up and running have bad mapping(I mean horrible), so when you get this off the ground be sure to at least cover that. It'll get more attention.

One word: awful.

Actually this doesn't do it justice: God fucking awful. Why the hell did you name it after ".hack" when it's RTP characters doing generic shite? Apart from the windowskin, Netplay + = This game. The 3 maps are...poor - I think the screenshot alone does this fact justice.

I'd say it was a joke game, if I didn't know you are really this bad at it.
 
I've liked the idea of an online game.
Is it possible for people to use there own sprites as characters. It wouuld make it more custom-able.
I don't know how hard it would be to pull that off.
 
But that's just it. Felixio will wait until NP2.0 and then say "Hey I put in Visual Equipment" when all it is again is the Netplay Plus package with crappy maps added on. The idea is to actually change the system setup, not use the exact Netplay system. On the positive side, the connection seems to be very good. Hopefully it'll be able to stay like that if busy.
 
The quality of this game actually makes me want to code a .hack// game in Abyssal Chaos Engine. i could use my prebuilds, and end up looking like this, or I could model some new characters.

My server randomly quit last night. It's back up.
I started this 2 days ago, so you can't say it's crap from the 3, 5 second-made maps.
The whole project will be re-made today. Give me time to make good maps, 1 day isn't enough.
And the rtp graphics will be re-touched. I'll be starting a team for this project.
And; you guys haven't even test played it, so stop flaming me because I'm el felixio, when you do test play it (If you have enough courage) you'll still say it's crap because your original opinion is God.
I can change the button Mash, Jstreet. I didn't notice that problem. Thanks.
 
Felixio, I have played this game. Try checking your user list next time. I'll break it down a bit more why this isn't any good:

Well the first map is an empty square room. In what way should a first map ever be this? You're meant to be drawing us into the game....instead I'm left with this knight character (OK variable, but you can even see the blank default character when you start the game because it doesn't start on a different map. Instead fading over it on start) in a cube made of...Ice?

OK, so maybe it was just a lobby. Makes sense- perhaps just a bit of bad mapping meant it never got filled. Fair enough. Next map. A town? Nice. Except....Why is the shop keeper walking permenantly on the spot? Why is he obscured by his own sign? How does the path cut through a stream without getting flooded? More importantly....Why are big green guys attacking me in a town?! Unless part of a story thread, or a special town, enemies running rampant through towns is just not clever. There are 4 guards there- why are they not at the outer gates of the town stopping these getting in in the first place, instead of guarding a pointless stretch of path? I won't comment on the mapping in detail, just bland, empty and too big.

Felixio, don't keep saying "I'm redoing it all. Don't comment on it" because you posted it here. It means you want comments. I have no idea why you posted this here, what with its three maps and 5 seconds of interaction. And it's not flaming, flaming would be "Fuck you Felixio, this is shite".

Edit: Finally....Leaving an MMORPG open? With no security measures? Come on now that's just daft.

Can't you read either? The maps are not finished, I'm re-doing them completely, which is why the first map is so empty. (The first map will be Aura's zone)
A security in game mod team will be set up: The Crimson Knights and The Cobalt Knights.
It was posted not for comments on the uncomplete maps, but for comments on the ideas, classes and to testt the connection capabilities, as I have had trouble with netplay systems before.
 
Well, Felixio, I played the .hack games, and as much of a fan as I am of the anime, the games were a slight disappointment. Very repetitive and tedious.

My advice, add more character classes, and look for something that'll make this a little unique. Like how to obtain weapons, spells, and etc.

As far as "The Silent Alarm" goes, I think you need to calm down. He obviously wanted to post the idea, and get feedback on the idea it's self. He merely stated he was still testing the connection, and had put no work into the mapping it's self.

Sounds like you are just angry, and wanted to take it out on the first person who didn't abide by your almighty standards.

So just chill out. Give the kid some time, for Christ's sakes.

Other than that, I'd be more than willing to help you out with some graphical ideas, as well as some of the system concepts. I would like to see this go some where.
