And with a panda as a plot point, apparently.

So, it says the main plot has to be 1 hour max. Is that only cutscenes, or does it include running around/solving puzzles/battles/training?

^This. To clarify even further. The time when I press 'new game' to the time when the credits roll, or the game exits. That has to be an hour maximum. If it's 1 hour 1 minute I won't go ballistic but keep in mind I have to individually play every entry to completition for a fair review.

Okay, but how about puzzles and other stuff? 'Cause some people are just way faster at it than others. E.g. I'm very slow at them, but someone that prooftests my game might be 5 times faster than you. :s You know.

I know there's no minimum time, but what do you realistically want? 10 Mins+? 20? Or do you want as many 5 min games as you can get?

Oh, and are we allowed to have project threads for these games?

no RTP ONLY games?  I have a lot of other things in there as well, so I think this can count...  Sure I am using the RMVX RTP tilesets, charsets and such, but I have another full tileset for tileset e (all custom made tiles) and a lot of sketched artwork that will feature prominetly in the game, as well as a lot of other non-rtp stuff... do you think that will be okay?  Even if it isnt, it is worth a shot ^_^  he will be the judge. 

I read the rules in several places, and the only thing it says is no RTP ONLY games.

I am also going to include the RTP in the download, so there is no need for an additional download of the RTP.  (all of this assuming I can actually finish this game ^_^)

By the way, does anyone have, or could make a charset for RMVX of a panda?  I already know how it will be in the plot, I just need the charset...  If not, could anyone provide me with a normal bear tile so that I can edit it myself?  (and then post it here for others to use if they need it)

I was going to keep these to myself until after the contest, but I'll let everyone use them as long as they give me credit. :thumb:  Since Sarevok is here, I don't think I have to worry about anyone claiming this as their own.  I just edited one of the characters in Actor 3 that had ears and used a palette I made from a picture of a real panda.  It's not perfect, but it's decent.

Oh, and, you said you can do parodies. So does that mean that we can go against copyright laws that would come up if we were to, say, sell the game? Like, we're allowed to feature singers/existing characters in our game (like Madonna or something lol), and we're also allowed to just take graphics from websites without asking for permission? Or does the entry need to have graphics that we're allowed to use only?
