Guild Wars

Awesome Bro

You can fast travel on WoW but yeah, it is a little more complicated than GW.

GW 2 looks and sounds promising. I can't wait :)

I have played Guild Wars, but I haven't played it in awhile.
I don't like the way armor is set, because you can spend 1.5 Paltinum on Regular Armor with the same value of Protection but then you spend like 90 Platinum on Elite Armor thats supposed to look cool but still has the same value of Protection. Combat is great, the fact you can travel from city to city instead of running their (like in WoW) saves loads of time. I do like the fact that you can only hit lv20 and fight lv32 bosses. The games good and I'll like to make myself a boss to kill just for the hell of it.

You don't really have to buy the elite armor; I never did and I don't particularly miss hit. Incidentally, I have tons of cash because of that, which I usually use to "cheat" and buy new characters' the best armor...

Well I've played both Guildwars and WoW, I had all three expansions for Guildwars actually, and storywise, it's absolutely brilliant, it's just how silly things can get on it, I mean, I saved up for full FoW armour (Like 75 Platinum a piece AND Ecto's...) on my Warrior, Necro and Dervish, and was like "Wow this costs alot but shit yeah I look awesome", and I dyed it all black, which they were 6 Platinum a go..., and then made a 55 Monk cause they're brilliant, well, they were till they got nerfed...

But now you think about it, the prices of items were terrible, you could find a perfect sword with Req 9 and 11-21 damage (Was it that ?), with like +20% Armour Pen and whatever else perfect things gave you... and it was 5 Platinum, however, if you want it to do the exact same thing, but look better (i.e Icy Dragon Sword), you've gotta pay like 100 Platinum and up ! I don't see why o.O

Something else that let it down for me, was the fact that you could only get to level 20, and do it in less than a day, you know when you get ascended in the desert, where you gotta kill your clone, yeah... if you do it in less thana minute (Which I did), you get bonus exp, and I levelled from 13-20 from that one fight... kinda TOO easy if you ask me, I think the game would benefit more from more PvE and higher levels, which Guildwars 2 promises to have, and it DOES look promising...

I like them both. In some ways I do like Guild Wars better though. I started off with a Hunter\Elem and got so use to that play style nothing else satisfied. Than I quit for a while, came back, and now I'm pwning with a monk\mesmer. It's a fun game. I only have EotN though, I really want the other ones but just don't have to cash for it.

Guild Wars is a nice diversion, but I've never really considered it an MMO due to how everything is a personal instance (same reason I don't consider the blasphemous PSO and PSU to be MMOs). That and I've been stuck at level 9 for 3 years.

Hey guys, I'm back! Anyway, I got Guild Wars Trilogy and the EoTN expansion for Christmas, and it's pretty sweet. So far I have a level 14 (?) E/Mo and quite a few good skills, such as Inferno, Phoenix, and Fire Attunement. I haven't played in a while, but I might here soon. My guy's name is Indar Bloodfang if you want to hang out sometime lol. My only complaint is that the music is too soft and not that exciting. That's why I have WinAMP running in the background so I have some music to play to. I can't wait till GW2 comes out, but I wish Arena Net would get their asses in gear and get the game finished since it has been in development for over 2 years. Really though, it's pretty good, but I agree with shadowmimiiru, it's really not an mmorpg since it's instanced. I never minded it at first, but since I've started playing other games such as Atlantica Online and Perfect World International, I've found out that it's really nice to have people around you (as long as they don't hog all the monsters xD) so it doesn't get boring. Damn, I can't stop typing once I start!

EDIT: Whoops, I guess I already said that I got it. I made a new character since me W/E didn't work too well as I went farther into it.

I used to play Guild Wars. I don't have any of the Expansions. Pretty good game overall. I just hated the fact back in the day that you could only get to lvl 20...then that was the max level. I thought that was ridiculous. But the guild palace system is pretty sweet. Haven't played it for awhile, so i don't know if it has gotten better at all. Last time i last remembered that they had 3 expansions.
