I tried editing the battleback from day to night. Because simply tinting the screen dark doesn't fool anyone.
How does this look to everyone else?

Looks good to me, though I'd say bring the colour saturation down (or make the purple more blue) - nighttime tends to be a little more colourless.

The grass looks a little purple. Tone that more blue-green and desaturate it a little. As the others said, basically. Oh, and make it a little darker.

I think it looks great, but I think the sky looks a little bit.....like..fuzzy? I quess, maybe

The colors look too posterized. Or solarized. I forget what looks like what.

Anyway, don't be afraid to use a feather on the tools you use to change hues, on backgrounds like this. I know that's a no-no on pixel art, but this isn't pixel art

Maybe blur the background a bit, or even use the smudge tool with like 20% pressure.
