Graphics Tablet Pressure Not Working! Please Help!

Hey, all!

To make a long story short, my girlfriend recently upgraded from Photoshop 7.0 to CS2. In Photoshop 7.0, the harder she pushed on the tablet, the thicker the line she was drawing got; pressure sensitivity, I believe it's called. However, we cannot for the life of us figure out how to enable this in CS2!

As she gets paid for projects she completes for people, this is a rather large deal. It could be pretty bad if all the money she spent on CS2 actually limited what she could do with her graphics tablet. Please help! Any comments, suggestions, or etc. would be greatly appreciated.

God bless, and thanks in advance!

Thanks, man, for the help!

Unfortunately, we tried that some time ago, and it didn't/doesn't work. I had her try it again to make sure.

We uninstalled/reinstalled the driver for the tablet, looked in the help section... afraid we're stumped.

BlackMarket, do you know, if there's any other setting you've got to turn on? I'm pretty sure the tablet's compatable, as it worked fine without any setup for 7.0...

Thanks again; we really appreciate it!

Ah, yikes. That explains it. People have been complaining about Aiptek tablets not working properly in CS2 for a bit now. Aiptek makes a lot of the 'clone brand' tablets that suffer from the same affliction. Apparently they have been working on a new driver for the tablets that bring that support back to CS2, as it is the driver, not CS2 that is the problem.
Luckily, because Aiptek tablets are like bootleg tablets, other drivers for other tablets tend to work.

Try downloading this and installing it. What sort of Aiptek tablet you've got shouldn't matter.

Hey!

Well, I tried that new driver, and I'm afraid that it still didn't work. Is there another driver you can think of that I can try?

I/we really appreciate it; thanks!

Hey there Black Market...

This is King Moogle's girlfriend Sammybunny and I just wanted to tell you thank you for looking into this. i really really appreciate it!

It is very kind of you!

God Bless!

No problem! I'm glad to offer my assistance.
Unfortunately, it's looking like there may be no real solution to this quandry at this point. Aiptek has apparently been made aware of this problem for a year or so, but no solution has been made. I'm afraid this is the tradeoff that occurs with lower priced tablets... lack of support, random issues popping up that don't get fixed for a long time... This is why most websites reccommend Wacom tablets. They're definately more expensive, but they're also more reliable and are updated quite frequently. I'm sorry for not being able to solve your problem here...

Alright, thanks; she says "I guess we can live without it", so it'll work itself out.

We do really appreciate all the work you put into it, though; thanks a bunch!

Also, I'd appreciate if we could leave this topic open, just in case someone else stumbles upon an answer...

Thanks!
