Gradient text in Photoshop Elements?

Hello there, folks! I don't know wether this is the right section to post this or not. Mod, feel free to move this if this are the wrong section.

As the title implies, I've been using Photoshop 6 but my computer was reformatted. I installed Photoshop Elements 6 which has a few differences from Photoshop 6. And I want to create gradient text effect which applying a text, a word or a letter with gradient. In Photoshop 6, I can easily get this by double-clicking the layer but Photoshop Elements seems a little bit different... I'm clueless here, somebody!

I don't have this Photoshop Elements you speak of, but I do know how to change the normal text to use a gradient in Photoshop 6.

Simply make the text on a new layer, then right click on the layer of the text. After this choose Blending options from the Pop-up menu, and choose Gradient Overlay.

Choose the gradient you want, and you're done!

Hope that helps!  ;)

Make a new layer that's a gradient.  Position it over the text layer and hit CTRL-E.

That works in elements 2 (what I have), not sure if it work with youse though.
