Getting an old RMXP Game to Work with Windows 7

I recently purchased a copy of RMXP on steam. I had been using an archaic copy of RMXP years back to create a game on a Windows XP system. However, my game would not run when I upgraded to windows 7, nor would any game I created on my old copy of RMXP. However, my Steam copy of RMXP will create games that run fine under Windows 7. Is there any way I can make the game I created using my old copy of RMXP compatible with Windows 7 and my Steam copy of RMXP. Please note that I can open my game within the editor in my Steam copy, but the program will still crash if I attempt a test run.

Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It's not really depending of the cracked or legal version, it's RMXP that's cracked not the RGSS BUT the RGSS dll depend of your RMXP version, I had the 1.01 and I've the 1.03 so I was using RGSS100J.dll (buggy on win7) and now I'm using RGSS104E.dll that work on Win XP/7/8 :b

Sorry if I said the wrong name (that's why I set a interrogation mark :B)

When I refer to "cracked" version, I'm referring to the old Postality Knight's edition, which was a Japanese copy that had been cracked and then patched to English. Since they said "old", I was assuming that they meant from before the change from Protexis licensing to the newer system, which happened at the same time they updated to RGSS104E.dll (Or RGSS103E.dll, if they ever managed to release that over here.) Since I was assuming old, it would have to be RGSS102E.dll, RGSS102J.dll, or the even older ones which, like you mentioned, are buggy on anything past Windows XP.

Anyway, the dll name is a moot point, since it's defined in the second line of the Game.ini file in the project directory. If I really wanted to, I could distribute a game with a dll named something like "PuffTheMagicDragon.dll", and it would work just fine.
