Structured threads go here, and there are cool ones; actual discussions about the going on of the world and shit; just a lot of threads have been shot down to Rec Room standards and well, that's what the Rec Room is for. Just try and cool down a bit, k? No hard feelings.

Perhaps we bring back the symposium, that way there is an obvious distinction. Since there are threads that remnisce of rec room within general discussion, its hard to tell sometimes where the line is drawn.

tl;dr: Have symposium be "smart"; have rec room be "stoopid"

well, the post pictures of yourself is quite rec roomish, and lots of similar threads are a bit too serious/not stupid enough for the rec room, and these attitudes sorta try and encompass the entire board that you are on.
and besides, the amount of posts the general discussion is at quite a good level, restarting the symposium might bring them down to a considerably lower level. I think that more people post more discussions in gen disc. than a people actively trying to make discussions in the symposium anywyas so

The Symposium failed as a board. It was getting a post a week, at most.

I really don't think it's hard to just not spam in General Discussion.

pretty much this. we don't need a symposium to be able to have 'serious' or debate topics. is it really that hard to keep spam in the rec room?

I mean some rec room threads even get moved to GD and some to the Rec Room.
So if it's in GD DONT FUCKING SPAM FAGGOT think twice before posting.

Im not going to make a whole new thread for this, but honestly its not just the General Discussion that has been spammy lately but things such as Project Boards and stuff like that. I dont care who the creator of the thread is or who the person shitposting, spam is spam and posting shit in other peoples threads just muddies up the forums. Next person to post shit in any of the serious, non-Other Hand boards gets +1 warn points.
