Cooking at home for the family is more feminine than professional cooking.

It's the professional part that adds the masculine stigma to it.

My grandma learned me how to sew when I was like 11 and my mom's been teaching me how to cook from when I asked her to at age 16.

lol I'm sorry all I can think of is "Will you teach me to football?" (Longest Yard)

Anyways... I learned to cook and sew and a lot of other things in Scouts... I've known how to cook and sew since I was 8

I've never quite understood people having problems with cooking, honestly. When I cook, I'm always replacing ingredients, omitting things entirely, adding extra stuff (pancakes with corn in them are a personal favourite. Oh god yes) and it still comes out tasting good enough. In the vast majority of recipes, there is nothing so essential that the dish will come out horrendously if you ignore or replace it.

I think the "my cooking always comes out horribly" is either a consequence of doing meals that are overly complicated, or just being excessively fussy. Your cooking is not your mothers (or fathers, if you had a stay at home dad) cooking.

I can both cook and sew.
My sewing skills aren't really good though, I am really slow.
My cooking is way better though, I always have to cook lunch for me and my older brother, because my mom is working. (Except on the weekends of course)

Although I can technically sew, it's not something I'd want leaving the house. On the other hand, I can cook all right, and I learned the secret to my dad's mashed potatoes, which are easily the tastiest I have ever eaten. Unfortunately, I couldn't share any of them tonight because I had my wisdom teeth out today, and I had to have a fruit smoothie instead... (no warm foods allowed for a few days) (I would have preferred my dad's mashed potatoes to the smoothie) I also like cooking potato patties instead of pancakes. They're absolutely delicious, especially when you throw a bit of corn into the batter before cooking them. It's amazing how few people have the restraint to avoid burning themselves with those.
