Yes, but violence isn't a determining factor in whether or not I play the game. There is no reason why I play them, it depends on if I enjoy the game in question. I'm just as likely to enjoy a violent game as a nonviolent game if it is compelling and fun to play.

The only ones I have are the Silent Hill series, which my parents bought for me.

Only to the extent that books and movies do (which I believe to be a small extent).

I believe that the media is using video games as a scapegoat. Because most parents don't play video games, they're unlikely to understand what they're like and will trust the opinion of other adults rather than the kids that play them. The media is exploiting this trust in order to wage war on an innocent medium.

Depends. If someone's too young and they play a more mature game, perhaps. However, by playing games appropriate for their age group, I don't believe that behaviour can be affected, so long as there currently is nothing wrong with the person already.

Today its more open then a long time ago, and its a big industry. However, there are still people that think of it as a big violent bloody waste of time. But the media seems to be very happy about games. Liscenesed games(no matter how much they suck) are a good show of media support. Usually, its only the most prejeduce media groups(can I call it that?) that have such negative views of videogames.

Camisado, hate to say this, but isn't posting this on a GAMES RELATED FORUM really going to look bad in the coursework? The reason these types of courseworks are usually done on the streets is to get a better sample of data- you'd be hard pressed to get much variety from a RPG making forum.

I know, and I address that issue within my coursework. Plus I used this questionnaire else were and I posted it here due to a lack of people playing games in my sixth form college (seeing as it's a girls school) so this is really just to liven up my coursework a little. Also the numbers aren't really important... I'm looking more for people's opinions.
