G I P S Y : The Movie

[Venetia]

This was originally written for the Blockbuster Contest but it became apparent that I couldn't finish the scene in time, so instead I'm just posting the half-assed script I wrote for it :3

All the "BS"'s, "CU"'s, etc. stand for camera angles (Extreme Close Up, Body Shot, Midshot, etc.).

they are stupid
they listen something stupid(menele-manels)is a kind of indian music but is very bad and this kind of music sucks
they make childrens to steal from you
they kill people
they steal your mother if they can
they go in itali and kill pepople or steal from people
they make the roumania to be the most violent country...they make roumanians to look like rubbers and killers...but why roumanians fight with they...at school at hight school
And y say the gipsys are the most abominable kind of humans they are like a  vomit...sry for this but y don't trust a gipsy,y hate the gipsys,y want to desapear any gipsy

FADE IN on BLACK SCREEN. Beat.

TEXT : "IN THE TRANQIUL LAND ... OF ROUMANIA ......"

FADE IN some panning images of Romania, and FADE IN the ambient sounds of the countryside, with sheep and wind and all that.

GIRL'S VOICE: “Man, you don't now gipsy's!”

CUT to CLOSEUP of BOY's face. Sounds of school chime in.

BOY: “Gipsy's? ... That's just one urband legend.”

CUT to OSS of BOY looking at GIRL.

GIRL: “It is true! You will know that, as they are stupid! They listen something stupid – (Manele? Manels?) Anyways, it a type of Indian musics.”

CUT to CLOSEUP of BOY's face.

BOY: “But that kind of music, it is very bad! It sucks!”

CUT to OSS of BOY looking at GIRL.

GIRL: “I know! But they are dangerous. They kill people. Look out.”

CUT to OSS of Boy watching as the girl walks away.

BOY: “Gipsy's ...”

CUT to BShot of BOY in hallway.

BOY: “I'll be fine. There no is such a thing as gipsy's.”

CUT IN on BLACK SCREEN. No music/sound. Beat.

TEXT : ".... THERE WAS A EVIL PRESENTS LURKING .... "

CUT to OHS of BOY, walking through the halls at night. A phone rings through the silence.

CUT to BS of BOY, walking to the phone.

CUT to CLOSEUP of BOY, picking up the phone.

BOY: “G ... Greetings make?”

PHONE VOICE: “Son, I am your father speaking. Your mother--- She has been stolen.”

ECU of BOY's mouth next to the receiver.

BOY: “--Mother!?! Who does this thing?!”

ZOOMING ECU of the phone.

PHONE VOICE: “Son, it was ...” Beat. Silence. “... The Gipsy's.”

CU of BOY's face, shocked, as the background zooms in. The music crescendoes. Then the scene CUTs to black.

BOY: “AAAAAUUUGHHHH!!!”

Very fleeting, rushing music plays. A quick montage plays in typical trailer fashion.
Cut to BOY, running through the hallways.
Cut to Black.
TEXT: “THIS SUMMER ...”
Cut to BOY, getting to a locked door.
Cut to Black.
TEXT: “YOU DON'T...”
Cut to BOY, taking a shower and looking stern.
Cut to Black.
TEXT: “NOW ...”
Cut to BOY, doing his homework.
Cut to Black.
TEXT: “GIPSY'S ...”
Cut to BOY, grabbing a girl's hand off the roof of a building.
Cut to Black.
Finally, cut to BOY, running down the halls. Music cuts out. Eerie music settles in.
The camera pans to show the teacher's break room, with the TV on.

CUT to CU of TV.

NEWSMAN: “This just in! The Gipsy's are going in Itali! They're killing pepople! They fight with people at school! And at HIGHT SCHOOL!!”

CUT to CU of BOY. Behind him, you can see the banner that says “HIGHT SCHOOL” on it.

BOY: “No! They make us look like—rubbers and killers?!”

CUT to CU of TV.

NEWSMAN: “They are make Roumania to look like the most VIOLENT country! If you see a gipsy, desapear them ON SIGHT!”

CUT to ECU of a hand stealing a wallet from BOY's pocket.

CUT to CU of BOY looking startled.

CUT to MS of BOY looking at a child running.

(Background) NEWSMAN: “In other news, today in football, the Rubbers won over the Maneles with a score of 134 to 8 ...”

CUT to a DS of BOY grabbing the CHILD.

CHILD: “Hey!”

CUT to CU of BOY.

BOY: “Why you steal from me?!”

CUT to BS of BOY and CHILD.

CHILD: “... They tells me to!”

BOY: “WHO?!”

CUT to CHILD.

CHILD: (beat) “... The gipsy's ...”

CUT to BS of the BOY, letting the CHILD go. He stands and looks shocked.

Beat. The music begins to crescendo.

CUT to MS of BOY. After the crescendo, a GIPSY pops up from behind him, then there's a SCREECH! And then CUT to black.

Beat, Then FADE IN on BOY, slowly walking over a hill at night, looking around.

BOY: (hard panting)

Some mandolin gypsy-themed music begins to play, at a distant volume.

CU of BOY's face.

BOY: (beat) “... What? That sound like ... What it is-- manele? Manels? --”

Alt CU of BOY's face. He looks shocked.

BOY: “NO!”

Thrilling music plays over a montage of the boy running through the hillside. Then there are some cuts of ugly gipsys and their shadows on the hills. Somewhere in the montage, you see BOY on the toilet for a brief second. Gipsy cackles ring in for a little bit toward the end.

CUT to BLACK.

BOY: (very heavy panting, sounding like he's crying) “ ... S-sry for this ...”

CUT to a CU of BOY in a very dark locker. You can only really see his face.

BOY: (beat) “Gipsy's are ... The most abominal kind of humans – they are like a vomit. I don't trust the gipsy's.” (beat.) “I ... hate the gipsys!” (beat)

CUT to a different angle of the locker, where you can see the slats and light beaming in through them.

BOY: “I ... Want to desapear any GIPSY!!!”

A second later, Gipsy eyes show up at the locker's slats. BOY cries out. A sudden orchestral SCREECH! is played, then CUT to black.

Beat, then play quiet mandolin music.

TEXT (fading in): “THIS TIME ...”

TEXT (fading in): “THE GIPSY'S DESAPEAR YOU.”

TEXT (fading in): “Coming to Theaters 01.32.09”

Beat.

Then the Trailer credits appear, fade out, and it's over.
