I'm not sure how many of you guys here are fans of the Tales of series. Anyways, you might have heard of Tales of Abyss, Tales of Symphonia and others, right?

Most of you fans probably already know NamcoBandai has decided to stop localizing games in western countries. This pisses me off. I want to play Vesperia and Graces on the PS3. Every new Tales game will never be in English again.

oh and yeah this thread is kinda pointless besides my rant, lock if adequate.

They can't afford to do it. No amount of you or other fans wanting it will counterbalance the massive debt N-B (and their Tales team, specifically) have lingering over their heads.

That said, N-B not localizing things themselves does not mean that they will not be released; other companies (notably NISA) have offered in the past, and as far as people know, the offers are still open for discussion.

Yeah I heard about that. Something about the localizing of Vesperia on the 360 not making enough sales.

That's exactly what the voting thing is, if you read. It's just us trying to get Sony to do the deal. They've done it before. All they need is to talk.

How did N-B manage to dig themselves into debt? It seems like they have a really wide range of fairly ubiquitous products that are in fairly high demand -- I mean, no one's thrilled to see another Pac-Man, but they're pretty well-loved from a JRPG standpoint. I guess there wouldn't be a poll like this if they weren't. Dawn of the New World wasn't so terrible it could wreck a company, was it?

That's kind of a shame. I really like the Tales series, although I haven't played one in a long time. With fan demand what it is, though, I wouldn't be surprised if they started to work off the more prominent entries in the backlog once they got back on their feet.

I've never actually played a Tales game, they've always looked pretty interesting, and if they did release Tales of Graces, Tales of Vesperia, or Tales of Xillia (The one they're working on now) on PS3 here in Europe, I'd more than likely go out of my way to find and buy a copy...

It's a shame they're not localizing them, I mean, there's quite a bit of potential profit to be made... then again, it's been so long, I wonder if fan demand would actually meet the required margin to break even and profit from the development costs of translation and voice work...

Where did it say that they wasn't localizing Tales of Games anymore. I don't know. I don't think Namco Bandai would stop making Tales of Games. At least not let.

As far as tales of Xilla, I don't really know much about that. Tales of Graces I still think is coming to us. The original tales of graces for Wii that is. But the one for the ps3 I doubt it since tales of Vesperia for the ps3 didn't come us, just like how we didn't get that international version of final fantasy X. We normally get the original versions.

como, they're pretty excellent by JRPG standards. Tales of Symphonia or Tales of the Abyss were personal favourites of mine and generally the best examples of the series -- if you see those hanging around in a used games bins somewhere it wouldn't hurt to pick them up. The plot and dialogue get pretty anime at times, but it's not so bad that it keeps you from enjoying the rest of things.

Whatever that one was, it was annoying and you should avoid it. dev would probably be fine with them because otters but jesus christ repeating "ors" over and over is not interesting dialogue aaaaaa)

The fan demand is high. They just don't trust us enough to buy it. I think the sales of Vesperia on the 360 were bad because of the piracy? :/

You need to read up here. It's not coming. There is a fan translation going on for Graces though. Probably wanna check that out as well Tales Of Graces Fan Translation. The translation is going on for the PS3 and Wii versions. With a demo already out for the PS3 version

Oh yeah. I have a Wii. And seriously, I barely play it besides when my friends come over. I'm playing Arc Rise Fantasia and Fragile Dreams, which are pretty okay I guess. I'd definitely suggest Arc Rise Fantasia if you like hard bosses. But beware of the horrid voice acting, I had to switch to an undubbed version very soon :x

Yeah I'm on another forum as well and they are speculating that it is Graces F as well. I guess because of http://a"taleof"tworichards.com. But meh could be just another new game in waiting. Even though I'm trying my best not to expect, I really hope this one is Graces D:

Yeah I actually saw a thread on vgchartz (The links I post are from it), and someone inverted it, and put the Tales of Graces F logo next to it, and hey presto it looked pretty much like it.

Guess we'll have to just wait and see what happens then, maybe they'll announce something in the next few weeks or something...
